Position Summary :
A Patient Care Technician is responsible and accountable for assisting the RN or LPN in the provision of patient care and tending to the personal care needs of the patient as directed by the RN or LPN, as well as functioning as a unit secretary.
Unit Secretary duties include, but are not limited to, the transcription and data entry of physician orders, retrieving patient information, maintaining patients' data records, answering phones, taking and reporting messages, running errands, delivery and pick up of specimens and supplies, as well as ordering and restocking of unit supplies.
Position Qualifications :
EDUCATION .
Minimum : High School Diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE :
Previous Patient Care Technician experience preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE / REGISTRATION :
- Certified Nursing Assistant ( or . or documented evidence of successful completion of an accredited nursing school program.
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) 90 days from hired date

Demonstrates knowledge of infection control measures & standard precautions. Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
Education :
Required : High School Diploma or GED
Experience :
Preferred : 6 months of related experience.
Certifications :
Required : Completion of a nursing assistant (CNA, MA, AUA) training program or equivalent OR Completion of one semester of clinical nursing courses in an accredited RN program. AHA BLS.
