About The Position
Job Title : Grossing Technologist Job Specialty : Clinical Laboratory Job Duration : Permanent Position Shift : Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours : 80 hours per pay period Experience : 1+ years of grossing experience preferred License : Current NYS license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Histotechnologist (HTL) Certifications : Not specified Must-Have : Bachelor's degree in Science Job Description : Responsible for the accurate gross description, dissection, and processing of all biopsies and tissue specimens.
- Work under the direct supervision of a Pathologist and / or Pathology Supervisor.- Participate in limited technical activities within the Pathology department.
- Perform tasks such as accessioning, staining, cover slipping, and routine maintenance.- Handle cytology specimen preparation as needed.
- Adhere to established protocols and procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met.- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and efficiency in the laboratory.
