Purpose :

The Director of Food & Beverage is primarily responsible for administering all aspects of the food and beverage hotels operations by developing and implementing strategic plans necessary for short and long-term growth and profitability of food and beverage operations;

ensures compliance to established hotel culture. The Director of Food & Beverage provides strategic leadership to F&B operations group in supporting corporate and hotels initiatives.

Essential Functions :

Ensure all hotels maintain the highest standards of food and beverage quality, guest service, cost control and consistency in accordance with the hotel’s expectations.

Ensure that all purchasing efforts are streamlined and follow the company requisite requirements; ensure that quotes are always received and reviewed accordingly and that we constantly strive to ensure that we have the best pricing for all food and beverage items.

Constantly work on promoting the hotel creatively in conjunction with the marketing team and in accordance to the hotel operations schedule and events calendar.

Responsible for managing the critical path process during openings and ensuring all new hotels are stabilized and successful per the hotel’s standards.

Ensure operating standards and policies and procedures are followed by the management teams of each hotel.

Analyze the performance of each hotel and make recommendations for improvement where necessary.

Consistently monitor sales reports and the P&L of each hotel. Work closely in the development of the budget of each hotel with the Directors of Finance.

Monitor the P&L and ensure variances are explained thoroughly on a monthly basis.

Qualifications :

  • Five to seven years previous Hotel / Resort experience in food & beverage department head position.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong, innovative mindset
  • Strong community relations
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of professional
  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or equivalent required.
  • Expert knowledge of hotel operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques, guest interaction, vendor relations, budgeting, contractual relations and legal compliance.

Excellent communication skills required, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the management and service teams.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSA’s) :

Command of the English language both written and verbal. Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Must be willing to pitch-in and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.

Ability to work beyond standard hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the guests’ needs.

Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year hospitality experience.
