Job Description The Engineering Project Manager will support the enterprise facilities, engineering and sustainable operations needs across the organization.
- General responsibilities include managing projects (maintenance projects and efficiency projects that yield returns on investment);
- assessing maintenance capital needs; troubleshooting building issues involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and structural systems;
- scoping, implementing and managing capital projects that involve repair & maintenance of facilities or extending the life of facility assets;
- and supporting strategic initiatives. Responsibilities : Actively managing projects, including developing and tracking budgets and schedules;
- trouble-shooting issues; interacting with contractors and subcontractors; serving as the primary corporate liaison with contracted service providers and property facility leaders;
and ensuring effective implementation of maintenance capital projects and energy savings measures. Assisting with the management and prioritization of a repair and maintenance capital plan for the enterprise.
Investigating and troubleshooting infrastructure-related problems at property buildings and recommending solutions to address such with close coordination with property facility leads.
Scoping and developing project work, developing bid documents, coordinating the issuance of requests for proposals, evaluating proposals and making recommendations for repair and replacement of equipment and infrastructure.
Providing engineering and technical support to on-site facility and engineering teams across the enterprise. Reviewing new construction plans for adherence to standards (and developing such that may not exist) that yield life-cycle cost savings and / or improvements related to utilities or facility operations.
Working on strategic initiatives and providing other support as directed. Qualifications : Education and Experience : BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or another applicable engineering discipline or equivalent trade or project management experience.
Minimum ten years' experience involving building systems engineering (e.g. HVAC, MEP, Controls, etc.), roofing / EIFS / structural systems and / or construction management.
Strong working knowledge of building infrastructure and systems. Experience with construction / project management, project scoping, and vendor negotiations.
Skills and Abilities : Must have building project management experience. Must have excellent communications skills (written and oral) Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Self-starter and ability to lead projects from definition to completion Professional Engineer and / or Certified Energy Manager or related professional designation, a plus Work Environment Field work at properties involving electrical, mechanical and structural systems, back of house locations, equipment rooms and outdoors.
