Stillwater Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer / Systems Engineer in their Jacksonville, FL office .

The qualified candidate will meet the following criteria, as indicated in the job summary below.

SUMMARY :

The Network Engineer / Systems Engineer primary purpose is to provide technical and administrative support for the enterprise network, servers and related components including but not limited to installation and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers and technical support of all components used within Stillwater Insurance Service in all corporate locations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• The position requires the Network Engineer / Systems Engineer to understand the enterprise network, server, desktop and phone requirements for each office and to be able to demonstrate a clear and critical understanding of the environment in daily work assignments.
• Obtain and maintain thorough documentation and understanding of products and equipment used in the system including network switches, routers, network protocols, configurations, servers, software, communication interrelationships and related information pertinent to maintaining and growing the IT environment
• Develop and maintain documentation and guidelines for technical and non-technical users of the network, servers, hardware, software and related equipment to include but not limited to how to use the equipment, configurations diagrams, installation procedures, and provide in-depth troubleshooting analysis of the network protocols, configurations and deployment procedures and processes.
• Provide escalated support for Windows, VMWare and other applications as needed
• Define, develop and document service level objectives designed to meet customer / user expectations.

A Network Engineer / Systems Engineer may be asked to assist with or perform various other functions throughout all areas of operation to promote teamwork in reaching the objectives of the Company and Department or the needs of our customers and business partners.

This may involve working outside normal business hours, or outside the scope of the Network Engineer position, depending upon skills and business needs.

Examples would be assisting other departments with special projects, catastrophic support, system fail over testing, disaster recovery testing and testing of various IT system enhancements or other special projects as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS :

Certificates, licenses and registrations :

• Cisco CCNA certification a plus but not required as Stillwater primarily uses Juniper hardware. Working knowledge and experience with switches and routers is required.
• Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, intrusion detection and PCI Compliance is required.

Other Skills, Abilities or Qualifications a plus but not require :

• VMWare Certifications

Additional Computer Skills :

• Database Software (SQL, MySQL etc.)
• Internet Software (Web filters etc.)
