Job Title : Experienced RN - Registered Nurse - Neurosciences

Location : Oklahoma City, OK

Shift : Day shift, Full-Time, 7A - 7P or 7P - 7A

Position Overview :

Join our dedicated Neurosciences team, providing top-tier neurological care in a 29-bed unit. This unit is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and we are committed to enhancing patient outcomes and employee satisfaction through collaborative care.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Patient Care : Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering high-quality nursing care.
  • Documentation : Accurately document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; track changes in physician orders.
  • Assistance : Support physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
  • Monitoring : Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient manifestations and intervene as needed.
  • Medication Administration : Administer medications as prescribed and manage intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Patient Interaction : Communicate care plans to patients and families, both during hospitalization and at discharge.
  • Education : Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and resources.
  • Referrals : Make appropriate referrals for patient care needs to relevant personnel.
  • Delegation : Effectively delegate tasks to support staff as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Education : Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Experience : One (1) year of RN experience preferred. Candidates with less experience should consider applying for RN Resident positions.
  • Licensure : Current RN License from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire; ACLS required if caring for Step Down patients.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong understanding of nursing theory, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff and respond to cultural and language needs of patients.
  • Basic computer skills.
