Position Overview :
Join our dedicated Neurosciences team, providing top-tier neurological care in a 29-bed unit. This unit is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, and we are committed to enhancing patient outcomes and employee satisfaction through collaborative care.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Patient Care : Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, delivering high-quality nursing care.
- Documentation : Accurately document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; track changes in physician orders.
- Assistance : Support physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitoring : Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient manifestations and intervene as needed.
- Medication Administration : Administer medications as prescribed and manage intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Patient Interaction : Communicate care plans to patients and families, both during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Education : Inform patients and families about hospital procedures and resources.
- Referrals : Make appropriate referrals for patient care needs to relevant personnel.
- Delegation : Effectively delegate tasks to support staff as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Education : Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Experience : One (1) year of RN experience preferred. Candidates with less experience should consider applying for RN Resident positions.
- Licensure : Current RN License from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire; ACLS required if caring for Step Down patients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Strong understanding of nursing theory, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff and respond to cultural and language needs of patients.
- Basic computer skills.
