- A hospital in Arizona is looking for an experienced NICU nurse for a travel assignment.
- The right candidate will hold an active BLS, NRP and AZ license or compact.
- COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.
Job Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 2 years NICU experience.
- Minimum experience is level 2, prefer Level 3 NICU experience.
Schedule Information
- 12 hour shifts, for nights it is 7pm-0730am, Self scheduling.
- 3 weekend shifts per schedule (month) which are Friday or Saturdays and one Sunday.
- One major and one minor holiday if falls within their assignment.
Unit Specific Information
- Unit : Special Care Nursery (SCN)
- 12 licensed SCN neonatal Beds.
- Typically 3 : 1 ratios, depending on acuity, 2 : 1.
- We are a Level II Special Care nursery we care for babies 32 weeks and above.
- Common diagnoses include Feeder growers, R / S Sepsis, Hyperbilirubinemia etc.
- NNPs in house 24 / 7, and Pediatrician coverage / on call 24 hours.
- CPAP and High flow are commonly used devices.
- No call requirements.
- Department specific orientation : 2 Shifts.
Additional Details
- Experience in foley catheter insertion is required on Day 1 of orientation (study guides provided with first day instructions).
- RN's are not required to titrate drips.
- There is a Charge nurse in SCN that attends high risk deliveries and manages shift.
- NICU travelers must float to our sister hospital Chandler Regional NICU.
- Scrub Color / Dress code : Navy Blue
- SCN nurses start all of their own IVs, a certified neonatal PICC team is available.
