GENERAL INFORMATION

The Department of Biology at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in physiology to begin in August 2025.

A successful candidate will contribute to teaching in our functional organismal biology introductory course (BIOL 162). We are particularly interested in candidates who can also teach an upper-division course (with lab) in comparative physiology.

The candidate will be expected to establish a productive research program in their area of interest that is well-suited to undergraduate participation.

The research area is open, but please note that facilities for research on vertebrate systems are extremely limited.

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must demonstrate excellence in scholarship and a commitment to effective undergraduate teaching in the context of a liberal arts college.

A Ph.D. in a relevant field of biology is required at the beginning of the appointment.

The teaching statement should address how your training and experiences have prepared you to teach in our introductory course (BIOL 162) and in the upper-division physiology course.

The research statement should contextualize the research for a broad Biology department, provide future plans, and describe strategies for undergraduate involvement.
