We are seeking a LRASM Mechanical Design Engineering Lead. The selected candidate will report to LRASM Mechanical and AUR IPT Leads.
Primary responsibility will be to lead design team in the detailed design, hardware builds, procurement support, and AUR level test events for the LRASM development missile variants.
However, depending on experience level, candidate may also be asked to lead the Mechanical Design Team for the entirety of the LRASM program area including production support and new platform integration for the fielded LRASM missile variant.
Responsibility / tasking discussion to be had on program prior to job acceptance.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to :
- Tasking and coordination for 8-14 mechanical designers.
- Having significant design experience with an excellent understanding of GD&T and broad knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with Catia V5 with the ability to work with the team to implement best practices for modeling.
- Embracing 1LMX initiatives and incorporating them where feasible within the LRASM program required.
- Working with a diverse team of internal organizations, managing supplier inputs, and developing internal documentation to meet contractual TDP delivery expectations.
- Perform design trade studies evaluating cost, weight, schedule, structural / thermal benefits.
- Required to be in office 3 days a week or more on average. Travel to Troy or suppliers may be required on an as needed basis
Candidates filling this position will need a US citizen and will need a clearance at the level specified in Clearance Level or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified.
In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, candidate may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment.
