The Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) is seeking a part-time instructor for its Spring 2025 course, PUBSRV 1230 - Fundraising for Nonprofit Organizations.
This is a full-semester, 3-credit, undergraduate course in the school's Public Service program. The Spring 2025 term runs from Wednesday, January 8, 2025, through Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
The course is scheduled to meet in person, on the Pittsburgh campus, on Thursday evenings from 6 : 00-8 : 30 pm.
Instructor's duties include preparing a syllabus, leading class sessions, grading and commenting on students' work, providing timely and frequent feedback on student assignments, utilizing Canvas, and being available to meet with students.
Instructor is expected to be responsive to all student inquiries. Enrollment will be approximately 20-25 students.
Successful applicants will have at least a Master's degree in a relevant field (public administration, nonprofit management).
Prior experience fundraising for and managing nonprofit organizations is required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous in-person teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Candidates must be willing to travel to the Oakland campus for weekly class sessions.
Course Description - PUBSRV 1230 - Fundraising for Nonprofit Organizations
This course is intended to help students become familiar with the major sources of financial resources available to support the program activities of nonprofit organizations.
It will introduce students to the basic component of grant proposals and other revenue raising techniques i.e. planned giving, general appeals and endowments.
