This position is in the Maintenance Department and reports directly to the Analyzer Supervisor.
Job dimensions
The Analyzer Technician will work with the analyzer supervisor to maintain, diagnose, improve, and resolve analyzer issues in a safe, responsible and environmentally sound manner.
The Technician will ensure that the process and regulatory analyzers are repaired and maintained for maximum reliability and in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
Key Activities and responsibilities
Major responsibilities for the Analyzer Technician include but are not limited to the following :
Perform troubleshooting, repairs, calibrations and maintain all analyzer equipment in your dedicated area in accordance with daily / weekly maintenance schedules and to assist other analyzer technicians in their areas when needed. 90%
Ensure daily validations and cylinder gas audits on CEMS and HRVOC environmental analyzers are performed in accordance with state environmental rules and regulations. 10%
Other Duties as Assigned
Adhere to all policies and procedures in place.
Complete necessary paperwork to account for work performed.
Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and incident investigations when necessary.
Communicate all findings in the field to the analyzer supervisor that require attention, modification, extended work periods or any other questionable situations that should be addressed.
Attend all safety meetings as scheduled.
Establish and maintain processes for continuous improvement.

Perform elevated work on scaffolding and aerial lifts (JLG, scissor lifts)
Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

Required Education / Qualifications / Work experience
Minimum 1 year of field analyzer systems experience in petrochemical industries.
Strong knowledge of process analyzers, including their application, design, communication protocols, wiring methods, calibration, and repair.
Knowledge of federal regulations for monitoring emissions and record keeping.
Strong knowledge of on-line process analyzers such as gas chromatograph, Oxygen, Carbon Monoxide, Nitric Oxide, LEL, Moisture and sample system operations.
Good knowledge of handling analyzer database software and other computer systems.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP.
Demonstrated learning and development skills.
Initiative and self-starter.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively interface with manufacturing, engineering, and other functions including contractors.
Strong interpersonal skills are required as well as the ability to solve problems and present solutions.
