Cleveland Clinic's H80 GeneralMedicine / Telemetry unit cares for a variety of patients(respiratory, gastrointestinal, dialysis, diabetes, and more) aswell as the homeless population and patients going through drug andalcohol withdrawal.
This patient population's diversity iscomparable to that of the Emergency Department, so nurses learnmany skills that can take them anywhere in ClevelandClinic.
Acaregiver in this position works a day / night rotation with shiftsfrom 7 : 00 a.m. - 7 : 30 p.m. or 7 : 00 p.m. - 7 : 30 a.m.
Acaregiver who excels in this rolewill :
Participatein a residency core curriculum based on individual learningneeds.
Providedirect nursing care alongside a successcoach.
Establishand / or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference andresourceavailability).
Respondto data indicating riskto patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce orpreventrisk.
Seek supervision, consultation and assistance whenunable to perform safely andindependently.
Documentin patients’ medicalrecords.
Minimum qualifications for the idealfuture caregiverinclude :
Graduatefrom an accredited school of professionalnursing.
Currentstate licensure as a Registered Nurse(RN).
BasicLife Support (BLS) certification through the American HeartAssociation(AHA).
Newgraduate RN OR less than one year of RN workexperience.
Preferred qualifications for the idealfuture caregiverinclude :
Bachelorof science in nursing(BSN).

Requires fullrange of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manualand finger dexterity, and eye-handcoordination.

Medium Work -Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10pounds of force constantly to moveobjects.
Physical Demandrequirements are in excess of those for LightWork.
PersonalProtective Equipment :
