Senior System Engineer- IT

Job Summary

Ontario - Remote- must be within a one hour drive to the city of London

This position designs, implements, and maintains complex infrastructure in a SAN environment with respect to access methods, access time, validation checks, organization, security, documentation and statistical methods.

This position is directly involved with the design of the systems and works with the user community to develop requirements.

Responsibilities

• Incident Management Level 3 Provides support to include resolution and re-engineering.
• Server / Application Engineering and Administration - Administration and L3 engineering for Microsoft Windows, hypervisor and hardware environments.

Supports production, test and training environments. Develops technical specifications for procurement of systems, equipment, and services for systems

Storage Engineering and Administration-Responsible for the operation and maintenance of arrays along with managing storage via NFS / iSCSI.

Monitor performance, usage, and security of all storage systems. Work ensure that the SAN environment is following applicable security policies, regulations and industry standards.

Server / Application Documentation - Document all areas of the systems, including which clients are accessing which applications, databases and system security design.

Works with the Business Units on creating and updating system disaster avoidance / recovery plans.

• Backup Engineering and Administration- Responsible for ensuring that backup and recovery systems are following applicable security and client policies, regulations and industry standards
• Change Administration Acts as a key participant in Change Implementation Management (CIM) and submits change control documentation in accordance with FOUNDEVER standards.
• Active Directory Engineering and Administration- Deploying new Active Directory environments or upgrading / migrating existing ones.

This includes planning and executing domain controller upgrades, schema updates, and functional level upgrades. Oversee and manage AD services to include but not limited to Group Policy Management, DNS, ADFS, LDAP, Trusts and Certificate Services.

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or 5 to 7 years related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Applicable vendor certifications, Microsoft, VMWare, etc.
• Solid understanding of VmWare 7.0 or greater environments
• Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and services.
• Advanced knowledge of backup systems / platforms.
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills for systems
• Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and Windows 2016 or higher
• Familiarity with Cloud hosted solutions (PaaS, StaaS, IaaS,etc)
• Advanced knowledge in data management (SAN storage platforms, SAN fabric, capacity and performance management)
• Knowledge of Linux operating system
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office
• Familiarity with IT Compliance and Regulatory Standards (PCI, HIPPA, ISO 27001 etc)

Salary Range

The base pay range for this position is $80,000.00- $90,000.00 CAD; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience.
