Cybersecurity Systems Engineer - Contract
Location : Sterling Heights, MI
Type : Contract, Hourly rate based on experience
About the Role : Join our Cyber, Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Autonomy group.
You'll support system security engineering and program protection for major defense acquisition programs across the US.
Hybrid / Onsite : This role may require up to 100% on-site presence due to the nature of the work.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and apply system security engineering and program protection for defense acquisition programs.
- Create Program Protection Implementation Plans (PPIP) and advise customers throughout the process.
- Assess program security risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with experts in software / hardware assurance, cybersecurity, and supply chain risk management.
- Protect critical program information and mission functions.
- Integrate cross-functional technical scope within project constraints.
- Promote cyber-physical design best practices across the engineering enterprise.
- Manage requirements, architectures, and system designs.
- Lead design troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Ensure technical accuracy and compliance of design artifacts and CDRLs.
- Coordinate with Design IPTs for threat analysis and requirements compliance.
- Manage and participate in peer reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, related science, or equivalent (Computer / Electrical Engineering desired).
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience.
- Experience with engineering / military projects, technical development teams, military vehicle development, and integration.
- Experience in interpreting and managing system-level requirements.
- Familiarity with electrical line replaceable units and electronic hardware troubleshooting.
- Experience with cyber warfare, PPIPs, embedded systems, and software / computer science principles.
- Familiarity with cyber physical system security requirements and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
Desired Experience :
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
- Ability to work with military vehicles and pass ASR test.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational skills for managing multiple tasks / projects.
- Ability to work in various environments (prototype shop, laboratory, manufacturing, office).
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- US Citizenship required.
