Job Overview : The senior accountant will analyze financial data and be a business partner who will assist others understand financial information.
Qualifications : Required : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.A minimum of five years of relevant experience in professional accounting, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Demonstrate the ability to prepare, analyze, and maintain various financial reports.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
The ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of business professionals at all levels of the organization.
Preferred : PeopleSoft experience preferred.Healthcare accounting experience.Scheduling Requirements : Full-time, DayEssential Functions : Create detailed analysis of financial data, FTE s, Charges, Stats, and reconciliations.
Analyze data for opportunities across the system.Creates reconciliations, detailed account analyses with sufficient and appropriate supporting documentation.
Analysis general ledger accounts of detail, accuracy, and propose appropriate reclass, prepaid entries, and follow-ups.Assist department heads to research budget variances and with plans to offset.
Works with various department heads to gain financial operations understanding in order to create coherent reporting and communications.
Follows up on account analyses and accruals with department heads to insure accuracy and gain understanding of department operations.
Identifies, researches, and provides recommendations for resolution to any accounting issues, and has a comprehensive understanding of accounting in accordance with GAAP.
Routinely review vendor statements for accurate recording of outstanding balances, and work with AP / purchasing to resolve discrepancies, duplicate invoices, misapplied invoices, and miscoding.
Identifies and researches reasons for potential delays in payment or other issues.Must be highly proficient in Excel, a self-motivator who leads and takes initiative.
Have excellent interpersonal skills and a keen analytic mind.Completes special projects, ad hoc requests and other duties as assigned.
