Job Description :

PayPal Marketing Technology team is dedicated to creating a best-in-class platform. We are looking for a highly talented, enthusiastic, and hands-on Engineering Manager to join our team.

You’ll engage on all facets of application development, including requirements, design, coding, ensuring security measures, testing, and overseeing production releases.

As an Engineering Manager, you will influence the experience for PayPal’s customers in 200+ countries. We are looking for someone who is motivated, versatile, and hands-on as you are responsible for leading and developing teams of skilled engineers.

In your day-to-day role you will :

• Understand the Marketing Domain in depth and deliver features in PayPal that is scalable, reliable and fault-tolerant.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy multi-tier distributive software applications using Java in a Linux / Unix environment.
• Lead engineering execution for multiple features, utilizing your technical expertise to propose innovative solutions.
• Manage the team’s project deliverables, timelines, and priorities.
• Actively engage in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
• Troubleshoot critical issues in a timely manner and recommend root cause fixes.
• Ensure minimal operational overhead by automating maintenance tasks.
• Share your knowledge and experience to help onboard new team members.
• Facilitate and drive key technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders.
• Be a mentor and technical leader for a talented team of engineers.
• Partner with product, technology, program management and analytics stakeholders.
• Track business impact of features on a regular basis.

What do you need to bring :

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
• 12+ years of experience developing large scale applications Java, Spring Core and Spring Batch.
• A deep understanding and experience of applying software design patterns, data structures, object-oriented design, and algorithms.
• Experience working with large-scale, highly available, and distributed systems.
• Excellent debugging skills to resolve issues and identify solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional tests.
• Experience working on SaaS platform(s) is a plus.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful web services.
• Experience in delivering projects using Agile Methodology.
• Demonstrated development team building and people management skills.

PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $107,300 to $259,600.

For the majority of employees, PayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace.
