Tax Manager Trust and Estate Tax Manager
Position Overview
The Trust and Estate Tax Manager will oversee tax compliance and planning for high net worth individuals, trusts, and estates. This role involves managing complex tax situations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing strategic tax advice to clients in a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the tax preparation process for trusts, estates, and high net worth individuals.
- Provide tax compliance and planning services to clients, including individuals, partnerships, S-Corps, and C-Corps.
- Review and prepare various tax returns including 1040, 1065, 1120S, 1041, 709, and 706.
- Consult with clients on tax strategies, estate planning, and compliance issues.
- Conduct tax research and keep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations affecting trusts and estates.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and accurate tax preparation and planning.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, providing exceptional service and communication.
- Train and mentor junior staff members in tax preparation and compliance processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.7+ years of experience in tax compliance and planning, specifically with trusts and estates.Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws as they pertain to high net worth individuals and fiduciary entities.Experience with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.JD or LLM is a plus, particularly in tax law or estate planning.Experience with real estate partnerships and nonprofit organizations is advantageous.For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
