POSITION SUMMARY :
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community
through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Environmental Services
Technician helps members and participants reach their goals by maintaining a clean and safe
environment through dependable housekeeping services for YMCA grounds, facilities and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Maintains a clean and safe facility and grounds by performing housekeeping duties as designated
by the Environmental Services Manager.
2. Informs the Director of Maintenance Services of maintenance issues.
3. Maintains and stocks supply and maintenance closets and keeps equipment in a safe, functional
and orderly manner.
4. Performs light duty maintenance tasks.
5. Ensures paper and soap products are accessible to members at all times.
6. Assists location staff as needed to maintain cooperative working relationships.
7. Relates to the public in a positive manner.
8. Actively participates in branch and department staff meetings and / or related trainings.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :
1. High school diploma or GED preferred
2. Experience in a commercial cleaning environment or closely related field preferred
3. Complete within 30 days of hire : BLS CPR; First Aid
4. Completion of YMCA risk management and other maintenance-specific certifications, as needed
5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
6. Reliable transportation is required
7. Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse risk management training.
8. Report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and adhere to mandated abuse reporting and responsibilities.
9. Complete all required abuse prevention training prior to first shift.
