Nurse Manager, Registered Nurse (RN) - Crisis Stabilization Unit

Annual Salary : Commensurate with knowledge and experience $70,000 - $84,892

$10,000 Sign- on Bonus

Schedule : Monday through Friday 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm

What's your day like as a Registered Nurse (RN) Manager?

As a RN Nurse Manager in Crisis Stabilization Unit at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a crucial role in providing supervision and coordination of psychiatric and medical services to clients with various mental health and substance use disorders at our Regional Crisis Stabilization Center.

Your participation in a multidisciplinary approach will involve rapid assessment, crisis intervention, medication administration, and monitoring to address acute symptoms and prevent hospitalization.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing nursing staff and supporting the staff psychiatrist in medication management, crisis intervention, and counseling services.

The safety and well-being of our program clients directly rely on your expertise in client assessments, medication administration, and crisis response.

Your leadership in ensuring compliance with medical regulations and developing health policies will contribute to the overall safety and success of our program.

The RN Nurse Manager position requires comprehensive and thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, standards, practices, and techniques related to psychiatric nursing.

A strong understanding of principles, practices, current trends, and issues in public health and the delivery of community behavioral health care services is essential.

Candidates must be well-versed in the behavioral modification characteristics, physiological outcomes, and precautions associated with the administration of psychotropic medications, as well as have a thorough knowledge of the DSM V.

Proficiency in interviewing and supportive counseling techniques, agency procedures and policies, and community services and treatment providers is crucial.

The ability to maintain client medical records in accordance with regulations, plan, supervise, and evaluate the work of subordinates, and communicate effectively while preparing related documentation is necessary.

Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with others, collecting and analyzing behavioral and statistical data to determine areas of quality improvement and risk management, and preparing reports are also required.

Additionally, candidates should possess good knowledge of basic computer software.

REQUIREMENTS :

Registered Nurse with one year of behavioral health experience, including some supervisory experience. Candidate will register to practice as a QMHP-A trainee within the first 30 days of employment.
