Live-in or Live-out Family Manager in McLean, VA (with potential to move to Palm Beach, FL)

Compensation : $70,000 (would consider higher for the right experience / expertise)

Schedule : Monday - Friday 12 : 00pm - 9 : 30pm (flexibility required)

Description :

Single Mom in McLean is seeking a career household professional who will come alongside her to manage the needs of her teenage boys, as well as provide hands-on household assistance.

The ideal candidate will stay for many years and the position will continue to evolve. Duties include :

• Managing contractors / vendors, home repairs, and maintenance
• Scheduling (sports, activities, travel, etc.); interface with Mom's Executive Assistant to coordinate
• Organizing
• Keeping household and refrigerator stocked
• Errands including grocery store, returns, post office, personal shopping
• Cooking basic family dinners (recipes can be provided)
• Transportation to / from activities (clear driving record required); sixteen-year-old will have driver's license in the fall
• Homework support, oversee studying, and academic monitoring; interface with teachers as needed
• Pet support - walking dogs or taking to park; taking to vet; feeding, etc.
• Overnights as needed (if not live-in) when Mom travels
• Other personal assistant duties as needed

The candidate will be :

• A competent, driven, and career-oriented in-home professional, with years of experience and evolving duties
• Naturally tidy and organized, and can keep up with the current organizational systems of the home
• Educated and intelligent, preferably with a Bachelor's degree
• Service-oriented, and always looking for ways to make her life easier
• Able to connect personally and build a rapport with the teenage sons
• Confident and unflappable
• Patient, calming, and cheerful
• A resourceful problem-solver
• Flexible with the schedule
• Tech-savvy; adept and responsive in online communications
• Adaptable with duties, demonstrating a can-do attitude
• Positive, supportive, and understanding, even through challenges and high-pressure situations (the employer has a very demanding job with tight deadlines)
• Willing and able to travel as needed
• Seeking a long-term position (min. 2 years - Employer has been very successful with long-term employees)
• Able to cook basic meals
• Trustworthy, mature, responsible, and punctual
• Discreet, respecting the employer's privacy and willing to sign an NDA
• Respectful and supportive of the Mom's conservative Catholic values (a role model for the child)
• A dog lover! The family has two large dogs
• Local to the DC area

Note : The Live-in accommodations are a separate apartment (partial kitchen) and there is a pool and exercise room on the premises.

The position can be live-out, but it would require a great deal of scheduling flexibility (it can also evolve from live-out to live-in if the candidate is in an existing lease).

Mom works full-time from a home office.

Meet the Family :

We live in a beautiful home with two amazing funny dogs. Because I work from home at least 3 nights per week, there is a lot of hustle and bustle on site.

My executive assistant is a terrific person who interacts daily with the house manager, along with other extended family who are part of our family circle.

Never a dull moment in a good way! Cheerfulness is required we like to laugh!
