The Site Technical Director of the Laboratory Capabilities Integration and Transition (LCIT) Team partners with the assigned National Laboratory to facilitate transition of promising technologies to meet Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) and other AF requirements.
In this role the Site Technical Director works with the Lab Technology Transition Office on behalf of AFGSC. The Site Technical Director is the primary interface between AFGSC and the assigned Lab to identify technologies which could close warfighter capability gaps and facilitate technology transition to meet AFGSC's highest priority requirements.
This position will support the Small Business Consulting Corporation mission at the assigned National Laboratory. This role will supervise supporting hires for assigned locations and will coordinate across a widely geographically dispersed SBCC team for assistance and coordination in helping to connect promising laboratory capabilities directly with requirements when able.
The Site Technical Director will also identify and facilitate transition partners, within both small business networks and broader defense contractor base, and mature cooperative opportunities to develop technology roadmaps (TRL development plans) which help close defense capability gaps.
Beyond simply being a liaison, this role will additionally serve as a Subject Matter Expert and spokesman for the MAJCOM to the laboratory, as an action officer and facilitator of related solutions (part technical expert, part project manager), as an Acquisition Program Management advisor, and as an ambassador to regional businesses with whom SBCC wishes to build business relationships as we serve USG customers.

SBCC's mission is to "Ensure America's military dominance by integration of superior capabilities into the DoD". SBCC is based out of Bossier City, Louisiana, and their primary customer is the United States Air Force.

Ideal candidates have DoD acquisition qualifications, test and / or engineering background with related post-graduate credentials, and possess dynamic problem-solving, collaboration and strong interpersonal skills.
They must understand the AFGSC enterprise and missions, as well as the foundational principles of Defense acquisition program management to include Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, along with the broader Adaptive Acquisition Framework for DoD.
The Site Technical Director-LCIT will be responsible for engagement functions and processes through collaboration with internal and external senior leaders, policymakers, researchers, technology developers and stakeholders.
The Technical Director-LCIT will provide advisory and assistance services in support of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) cycle.

- Insight into all Laboratory research / programs that have potential to meet AF requirements for assigned laboratory
- Engage with SBCC leadership on processes, transition execution status, and vision for successful execution of various programs
- Engage directly with AF Major Command (MAJCOM) Staffs at all levels to achieve AF objectives
- Track requirements, environmental factors, organizations, activities, constraints, risks, and motivations impacting various programs and projects
- Manage and align stakeholders internal to AFGSC, SBCC and other Air Force organizations along with external stakeholders in support of program requirements
- Identify and establish introductory meetings and ongoing dialog between government stakeholders and laboratory entities with potential technical solutions
- Advise and assist non-traditional companies and small businesses with their interactions with laboratory and government customers
- Assess and report progress of assigned projects or programs
- Maintain, evaluate, and update records of schedules, program performance
- Plan and coordinate activities of logistics, data management and other program -related activities for transitioning technologies
