Education :

Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Management Information Systems or similar field required.

Work Experiences :

  • 3+ years of workforce management or analytics role.
  • 1+ years of experience in a workforce management role leveraging systems such as Kronos or Microstrategy preferred.
  • Retail experience, specifically an understanding of retail operations, store operations, merchandising, and retail systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate process design and application of workforce management best practices.
  • Experience conducting and managing time and motion studies and utilizing workforce management tools and systems.

Skills :

  • Analytical with strong mathematical skills, problem-solving abilities, and creative resolution skills.
  • Ability to consistently apply sound judgment and operate professionally, effectively and ethically as an individual contributor and member of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface and influence effectively with individuals at various levels.
  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong time management skills, ability to support multiple projects, and effectively prioritize and manage a large volume of work.
  • Proficient use of technical software and programs, as well as Kronos, Microstrategy and SQL preferred.
  • Strategic thinker who can also understand tactical delivery of analysis as needed

Responsibilities :

  • Operate as a subject matter expert (SME) to Store Directors & District Managers regarding store analytics, workforce management systems, labor forecasting and scheduling.
  • Analyze, forecast and plan workload, to help determine resource capacity and pay impacts by store for more than 260+ locations across Academys network.
  • Accountable to developing recommendations and standards for store workforce planning that ultimately affect Academys bottom line.
  • Identifies opportunities in scheduling and payroll management and partners with store leadership to address and find resolution.
  • Empower stores senior leadership to make informed workforce management decisions through standard reporting and analytics created by the team member or team.
  • Develop store labor standards, including staffing requirements, time and motion studies, and identification of fixed and variable labor components.
  • Develop and automate reports and tools to serve as a catalyst for change by assisting leadership with data-driven decisions regarding the workforce.
  • Improve labor forecasting capabilities by enhancing or establishing new or existing enterprise systems.
  • Configure, test and implement new or existing enterprise systems with workforce management (WFM) solutions.
  • Document and maintain processes for retail store WFM execution, including scheduling, forecasting and communicating proactively to manage store wages.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for senior leadership regarding workforce dynamics and metrics that impact business outcomes.
  • Utilize business intelligence tools, analytics, and problem-solving capabilities to integrate and analyze data from multiple qualitative and quantitative sources.
  • Monitor and analyze budget variances, reporting results and recommendations, and summarize highlights, business drivers, risks, and opportunities to management, key stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Conduct analysis and reporting in support of the departments overall mission of driving sales by improving operational execution and customer experience.
  • Learn and follow Academys work hours, policies, procedures, safety rules, and rules governing professional staff behavior.
  • Duties may change and team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
