Position Summary :
The Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shift operations in the Telemetry Department. This role involves managing human resources at the unit level in a cost-effective manner, investigating and resolving complaints, and providing direction during crises and emergencies.
The Clinical Manager supports employees in understanding administrative decisions and has access to all Patient Health Information for treatment purposes only.
General Duties :
Manage human resources at the unit level, including resolving complaints and advising management.
Demonstrate the ability to respond to changing workloads during crises and emergencies.
Assist employees with difficult administrative decisions and maintain confidentiality with Patient Health Information.
Department Specific Duties :
Provide leadership for telemetry staff, including care for telemetry, stroke, bariatric patients, and interventional cardiology protocols and medication.
Obtain and interpret information according to patient needs and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development.
Participate in human resources management, including evaluation, counseling, hiring, and editing payroll reports.
Ensure current job performance standards and competencies are established for staff.
Complete performance evaluations and manage HR documentation.
Counsel and discipline staff as needed, and facilitate staff orientation and mandatory continuing education.
Attend nursing leadership meetings and participate in special projects.
Maintain comprehensive records on staff and communicate on organizational and professional issues.
Optimize staffing practices based on benchmarking and acuity data, and assess staff development needs.
Support hospital programs including risk management, safety, and infection control.
Perform scheduling and facilitate unit work flow and teamwork.
Monitor supply costs and identify areas for cost savings.
Assist in developing and implementing department and organizational strategic plans.
Integrate Performance Improvement (PI) into daily operations and support quality trending efforts.
Qualifications : Required :
Required :
California RN License (must be maintained current)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience
Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills
American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification (must be maintained current)
Must successfully complete EKG test within the first 30 days of hire
NIHSS certification
