This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a motivated, committed and experienced whole health expert with strong business and financial acumen to join our Eugene-based corporate team!

The Whole Health Sales Manager promotes excellence in the Whole Health departments of all ten Market of Choice locations throughout the state of Oregon.

They are responsible for all aspects of Whole Health products including vendor selection, procurement and process strategy, product innovation, regular and promotional pricing, merchandising techniques and creating displays.

The Whole Health Sales Manager works closely with Corporate and Store Operations to meet store sales and financial targets for corporate and store-level budgets and to ensure perfect execution on all department Standard Practices.

Primary duties include :

  • Creating and executing strategies for product, price, promotion, and placement
  • Assisting Corporate and Store Operations in achieving target inventory turns, margin % and shrink %
  • Developing and executing merchandising programs and promotional plans that support the achievement of gross profitability and lead to continued sales growth
  • Working with Corporate Operations to establish consistent best practices for Whole Health products, placement, merchandising, and quality standards
  • Creating documented SOPs and developing staff training / education for the Whole Health department that can be supported by Operations
  • Driving excellence in our programs at store level by facilitating effective communication and working closely with each Whole Health department on consistent signage, training and financial performance.
  • Partnering with Corporate and Store Management to help develop staffing and work flow models that lead to excellence in department readiness, customer service, and labor targets
  • Maintaining knowledge and awareness of competitors and industry trends
  • Research and source new products and identify emerging markets
  • Working with our suppliers to curate an amazing product assortment supported by well thought out strategic programs. This role also requires strong negotiating skills in order to maximize an equitable amount of vendor funding and cost management that allows Market of Choice to maximize our margins while presenting the best possible price to our shoppers

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5-6 years of experience in the retail food and drug industry
  • Buying and merchandising skills with focus on Whole Health products
  • Educated knowledge of high quality merchandise
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and navigate new programs & systems
  • Proven ability to impact financial performance through buying and pricing decisions
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to recognize trends, target areas for improvement, and generate strategies for short and long-term goal setting and planning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to successfully work in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience working in multi-unit environment is preferred.
  • Regular travel between stores and to industry vendors or shows is required
