Job Title : Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Description :
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide prehensive speech and language services to students in a public school setting, ensuring that they have the necessary support to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct assessments to identify students with speech, language, and munication disorders.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, using evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom setting.
- Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of prehensive educational strategies.
- Provide training and support to school staff and parents on speech-language development, strategies, and interventions.
- Maintain accurate and pliant records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications :
- Education : Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure :
- Current Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology (non-teaching) from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
- Certification :
- Certificate of Clinical petence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience :
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred but not required.
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs, conducting assessments, and providing direct therapy services to children.
- Skills :
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using assessment tools, therapy materials, and technology.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Working Conditions :
- The role may require travel between different schools within the district.
- Work environments include classrooms, therapy rooms, and office spaces.
- The position may involve working with students who have diverse needs, including those with significant munication challenges.
