ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Senior Product Manager (Risk) will report to the Group Product Manager of Core Clearing and will have extensive cross-functional interaction.
This Product Management role will focus on all of the features, components, and systems that make up Apex's Risk domain.
We're looking for someone who can not only assess market risks and optimize our systems to ensure a high degree of accuracy and uptime within this critical domain but also set and execute a strategic vision for our Risk domain.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in enhancing our capabilities in risk assessment and management, ensuring it aligns with the dynamic needs of our clients and the evolving landscape of financial markets.

Duties / Responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategy, vision, and roadmap for our risk management products, focusing on internal tools to monitor and analyze market risks across millions of client accounts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the leaders of our risk department, data scientists and risk analysts, to develop and document comprehensive product requirements and drive products from conception through launch.
- Engage with internal stakeholders and clients (Broker Dealers) to understand and address specific risk-related product needs and gaps.
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative business metrics to inform product strategy and foster innovation within the risk management domain.
- Author and maintain key product documentation such as Annual Operating Plans, Product Charters, PR-FAQs, Narratives, and other risk-focused artifacts.
- Research and analyze industry trends to remain ahead in risk management technologies and practices.
- Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark our products and identify areas for strategic improvement in risk monitoring and management.
- Deliver insights and actionable recommendations tailored to stakeholders by aligning deep analysis of market risks with overarching business objectives.
- Ensure the functional and financial success of risk management products.
Education and / or Experience
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field (CS or engineering degree). Master's degree in business administration is a plus.
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in risk management tools or financial risk analysis.
- Experience researching, defining and documenting market and product requirements.
- Experience / background in financial markets or a strong interest in learning the securities industry.
Required Skills / Abilities
- Technical fluency with the ability to effectively communicate with engineering teams, understand modern technology concepts, and make informed product design decisions alongside technical staff.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication is a must.
- Strong analytical capabilities and comfort with BI tools, Excel, SQL, and potentially more advanced data analysis tools like Python or R.
- Solid track record managing the full lifecycle of product development, preferably within a SaaS or cloud-based environment.
- A deep understanding of Agile methodologies and a strong preference for incremental and iterative product delivery.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to challenge norms and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
Work Environment
- This job operates in an office envrionment.
- Requires occasional travel (15%+ time) to meet with distributed teams and stakeholders in various locations.
