This is an expert-level role that provides market intelligence and competitive intelligence insights on property insurance products.
The Competitive Intelligence Lead provides analysis of data and information, identification of root causes of deviations, development of solutions and driving the execution of plan implementation.
Manages operational planning and major projects and initiatives within the Property Competitive Intelligence Team. Specializes in leading product innovation and building web-based dashboards.

$107,000.00 - $181,000.00

Primary Accountabilities :
- Lead Projects : Lead projects on developing and building new dashboards and enhanced competitive intelligence research capabilities
- Analytical Support : Support product and pricing decisions, working closely with analytics, catastrophe management, countrywide actuarial, state management, and partner management teams
- Complete Deep Dive Analyses : Analyze the company’s competitive position with a particular emphasis on pricing levels and product offerings relative to competitors
- Market Research : Read competitor filings, earnings calls, insurtech blogs, and insurance-related publications to monitor the market and distribute relevant actions taken by competitors
- Reporting and Database Functionality : Assist in developing reporting and database functionality for other business units to consume, maintain a robust library of all competitive information, and provide updates and in-depth analysis of new competitors and new technologies within the market
- Project Management : Ability to work collaboratively across a variety of groups and operating companies, pushing work forward and gaining buy-in internally.
Requirements :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree, preferably in data science, computer science, actuarial science, economics, mathematics, business or a related field;
- Relevant Experience : a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Property & Casualty Insurance is preferred;
- Code Based Language Experience : Experience with Python, R, SQL and SQL Server Management Studio is preferred;
- Software Experience : Experience with data visualization programs like Tableau, Looker and Looker Studio preferred, intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint is required;
- Cloud Tools Experience : Experience with cloud tools such as GCP, AWS, BigQuery and GitLab preferred;
- Prioritization : A self-starter who can prioritize rapidly shifting assignments effectively;

- Extensive knowledge and understanding of product design, pricing and product management.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of advanced financial and data analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects in product development and product management.
- Demonstrated experience with profit and loss accountability.
- Demonstrated experience in driving to results in one or more of the following areas : sales, product lines, claims, or other core business functions.
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading large complex projects or programs with a cross-divisional impact toward intended results.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of root cause analysis and processes.
