Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - Inpatient Services Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS Must-Have : - A minimum of 2 years of intensive care experience - Respiratory and cardiac MICU experience - Ability to titrate drips, manage ventilators, and lead codes - Proficiency in reading and interpreting monitor strips Job Description : - Complete all required paperwork by noon on Thursday before the start date.
Manage care for a 6-bed ICU with Nurse-Patient ratios of 1 : 2-3. - Handle common MICU cases such as Afib RVR, STEMI, temporary pacers, sepsis, multi-organ failure, DKA, ETOH withdrawal, severe anemia, EKOS, post-surgical recovery, and COVID-19 patients.
All BiPAPs are placed in the ICU, even with lower acuity. - Work alongside a charge nurse who also takes assignments during shifts.
- Collaborate with one CNA for both day and night shifts. - In-house provider available 24 / 7. - Two respiratory therapists (RTs) are available at all times, with support from EICU for managing vent settings 24 / 7.
- Utilize Drager and Servo ventilators. Nurses are expected to troubleshoot equipment. - Monitor techs available 24 / 7;
however, nurses must interpret strips themselves. - 12-hour shifts from 7 to 7, with a flexible scheduling system that may allow for block scheduling.
- Work every other weekend and rotate holidays with permanent staff. - Option to take extra shifts or call if available.
- May float to MedSurg / Telemetry and provide assistance in Psych, ER, or L&D, depending on experience. - Flexible scrub color policy as long as attire is clean and professional.
- 2-3 days of unit / department-specific orientation provided. - Chart using Cerner Corporation - Millennium system. - Non-BSN candidates are accepted.
