Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse - Mental Health (Pediatric / Adolescent) .

Minimum of one year of experience in a medical environment performing patient care duties.

This is a FULL TIME / TEMPORARY position requiring availability between the hours of 8 : 30AM-5PM, Monday through Friday, located in Norfolk, VA (23513).

Responsibilities :

A Day in the life of a Licensed Practical Nurse :

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (Mental Health Outpatient - Pediatric / Adolescent), you will be responsible for nursing duties to include medication administration, IM injections, evaluation of patients utilizing different scales and tools, obtaining vitals, performing health screenings, cross-coverage for other departments, and other nursing job duties.

Requirements for the LPN Mental Health :

• Required : 1+ years as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a health care setting environment
• Required : Valid unrestricted Virginia LPN License or valid multi-state LPN licensure
• Required : BLS
• Required : Clinical experience working with psychotropic medications and the severely mentally ill, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders and developmental disabilities
• Required : Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
• Required : Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
• Required : Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Required : Possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as reported by the DMV.
• Required : Ability to give injections
• Required : Ability to collect blood

Preferred Qualifications for the LPN Mental Health :

• Preferred : Mental Health experience with pediatrics and aolescents
• Preferred : Psychotropic medication knowledge and experience
• Preferred : Mental heath assessment knowledge
