We’re currently looking for a Battery Product Development Engineer Intern to join our team in Nissan Tech Center North America (NTCNA) in Farmington Hills, MI.

A Day in the Life :

Creating and documenting 3D models for battery energy storage system.

Thermal simulations of batteries while under testing / operation including system level heating-current density analysis, electrical analysis tolerances, etc.

Keen understanding of the scope of test and safety requirements to perform DFMEA.

Agility to design and develop new concepts as required for business and certifications.

Maintain detailed documentation of design procedures, results, standards and analysis.

Provide engineering insights, troubleshoot performance issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Who We’re Looking for :

Must be currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD battery related program in Energy, Battery, Electrical, Materials or Mechanical engineering or in similar fields.

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Knowledge of battery energy storage system certification requirements, 3D-2D CAD, GD&T and thermal simulations is a must.

Research-oriented mindset with interest in state-of-the-art battery technologies, scientific literature and industry updates.

Familiarity and experience with handling batteries (modules), 3D printing, and dielectric material selection is required.

1+ years of experience with using CFD simulation software like Solidworks / ANSYS / etc for thermal analysis.

Must be able to follow safety protocols and wear safety PPE as required for the lab.

Ability to perform work onsite in Farmington Hills, MI
