About The Position
Job Title : Histotechnologist Job Specialty : Histology Tech Job Duration : 14 weeks Shift : Night Shift (Sun-Thu 22 : 00 - 06 : 30), holidays as scheduled Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Prefer 1-2 years of experience License : Not specified Certifications : HT (ASCP) certification Must-Have : Successful completion of course requirements from an accredited school of Histotechnology Job Description : - Perform basic histotechnology procedures including processing, embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining of tissue specimens for evaluation and diagnosis by Pathologists.
- Conduct basic special stains and prepare solutions as needed.- Use, care for, and maintain histology instruments effectively.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures.- Embedding capability of 40 blocks per hour and cutting capacity of at least 20 blocks per hour.
- Utilize equipment and tools such as Leica Microtomes, Peloris processors, Sakura Prisma H&E Stainer, and Benchmark Special Stainers.
- Utilize EPIC EMR system.- Wear standardized red scrubs for uniformity.- Complete orientation and required modules, totaling an average of 12 hours, before the start date.
- Adhere to policies regarding background and return employment requirements. Note : Traveler's permanent address must be greater than 100 miles from the specified central location to be eligible to apply.
