Location : North Hospital 4050 W. Memorial Rd. OKC, OK 73120
Shift : Full time, Days, Monday -Friday no weekends no holidays
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Clinic Nurse Director, Clinic Director or Supervising RN assist with daily clinic patient care such as patient flow, taking patients history and vitals, assisting with diagnostic testing maintenance of medical supplies and other duties as assigned.
Primary Duties :
- Greet visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff
- Answer telephones, and direct calls to appropriate staff
- Prepare patients for examinations including taking accurate patient histories vital signs and reconcile of patient medications and complaints
- Prepare treatment rooms for examinations, keeping rooms neat and clean
- Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
- Administer vaccines and apply dressings, as needed.
- Perform various types of treatments as directed, such as suture or staple removal, wound care, etc
- Triage patient telephone calls for discussion with nurse or physician
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies
- Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment
- Complete insurance and other claim forms
- Compile, maintain, and record medical charts, reports, and correspondence files
- Receive and route messages and documents such as laboratory results to appropriate staff
- Transcribe patient and practitioner interaction including diagnoses and recommendations into patients’ medical records
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure / Certification : BLS certification required within 18 months of hire. Newly hired team members with a minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience will be required to complete within 90 days of hire.
If a new team member is hired with no Medical Assistant experience than they will have to obtain the certification within 90 days after obtaining the one (1) year of required Medical Assistant experience.
Experience : Six (6) months to one (1) year of continuous experience in a clinic setting preferred.
