Summary Description
Under general supervision and according toestablished policies and procedures, functions as a lead orresource person for personnel involved in Angiography procedures,in addition to performing Angiography Technologist duties asrequired.
- Coordinates the flow ofwork , delegates, oversees and guides staff incarrying out their respective duties .
- Follows up on activities of AngiographyTechnologists or assigned personnel, resolves routine and complexproblems and ensures that department is operating in a safe andefficient manner.
- Monitors the quantity andquality of work flow to ensure work is completed.
- Ensures that prescribed diagnostic procedures areperformed according to department standards.
- Recommends personnel actions by providing input for performanceappraisals, hiring decisions and progressive disciplines up totermination of employment.
- Assists withmonitoring performance improvement plans. Hasthe responsibility for scheduling of and timekeeping forangiography technologists.
- Able to takecall / standby as required by the department.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications
1. Registered by the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology (RT) orVascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) orCardiovascular-Interventional (CV).
2.Required to have or successfully complete American HeartAssociation (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS)training by end of orientation period.
1.Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) within 6 monthsof hire for employees working in adult setting or PediatricAdvanced Life Support certification (PALS) within 1 year of hirefor employees working in a cardiology setting.
2. Two or more years progressively more responsible InterventionalRadiology work experience.
Skills Required
Basic Skills :
1.Analytical and clinical skills necessary to determine the most ageappropriate method of providing requested radiographs specific topatient's physical ability and / or limitations.
2. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to dealeffectively with and instruct patients who may be underphysical / emotional stress;
ability to comprehend and followphysicians verbal and written request and prescriptions; ability towork effectively in a culturally diverse atmosphere with a varietyof hospital personnel and / or patients.
3.Technical knowledge necessary to operate equipment including butnot limited to all specialized equipment and computers.
4. Ability to work productively andeffectively within a complex environment, handle multiple / changingpriorities.
5. Knowledge and understanding ofAmerican College of Radiology requirements for accreditation.
6. Physical stamina for frequent walking,standing, lifting and positioning of patients. Physical ability tostand, bend, push, pull, reach and lift in order to provide patientcare.
7. Manual dexterity and visual acuity tooperate and utilize all types of imaging equipment and supplies inorder to produce images of acceptable diagnostic quality.

1. Gather and interpret data, to identifydiscrepancies, problems or issues, to obtain advice when precedentsare unclear or unavailable and to determine methods for ensuringcompliance with departmental policies and procedures.
2. Use appropriate discretion in communicationand provide conflict resolution when necessary within thedepartment. Diplomacy, tact and listening skills are required.
3. Leadership skills including demonstratedwillingness to pursue leadership roles with increasing levels ofaccountability, comfort with decision-making responsibilities,coaching, teaching and counseling skills, and the ability toinspire and build confidence in others and to forge alliances andgarner support.
