The Opportunity

We are seeking field service technicians who are experienced with asphalt plant control systems. Selected applicants will be involved in field installations of plant controls, burner controls, silo load out controls, AC tank farm control and monitoring systems, and troubleshooting of all asphalt plant control systems.

Selected candidates will also be trained to calibrate and work on plant controls, dryer burners and hot oil heater burners.

Candidates must have knowledge and experience using voltmeter reading electric schematics and lock out tag out procedures.

Another important aspect of the job is safety. The applicant will work hand in hand with the safety director for most jobs, and as such, will need to attend and pass the requirements for OSHA and MSHA training, CPR, and first aid.

Other areas of safety to become trained in will include fire watch, confined spaces, and hazardous materials.

List of Typical Responsibilities

• Provide service and customer support during field installations and repairs
• Maintain the workload to the promoted schedule
• Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks
• Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine the proper solutions
• Produce timely and detailed service reports
• Document processes, including timesheets
• Follow all the company’s and customer’s field procedures and protocols
• Cooperate with labor crew, and office personnel, and share information across the organization
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations
• Build positive relationships with the customers
• Train customers on the use and preventative maintenance requirements of the new equipment
• Work with other onsite contractors and have some familiarization with asphalt plant equipment
• Participate in customer meetings; pre, during, and post job

List of Requirements

• Proven field experience
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service electrical controls
• Familiarity with standard hand and electrical tools and their applications
• Ability to layout benchmarks and points of reference
• Proficiency at reading electrical CAD drawings
• Ability to use voltmeter and amp meter

Working Conditions

• Work will be outdoors
• Ability to travel within the US and abroad
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules
• Includes shift work and on-call status
• Typical on-site workday requires 10-12 hours, and at times, more
