Flight Software Engineer - Associate Program (Summer 2025)

Flight Software - Associate Engineer

Associate programs at Astranis typically last for twelve weeks, and are salaried roles designed for new grads and graduate students who have graduated from a four-year university.

As an Associate, you will have an amazing opportunity to work on hard problems - we pride ourselves on giving everyone at Astranis a chance to do meaningful work on challenging projects, no matter their seniority.

Many past associates have designed and tested hardware / software that is heading to space on our first satellite, and many of them are now full-time employees at Astranis.

Role

Work with the engineering team to design, write and test software (embedded software running on satellites, as well as variety of ground control and testing software)

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
• Experience with C / C++ and scripting language(s)
• Demonstrated ability to personally design, write, and test software from scratch
• US Citizenship or Green Card
• 40 hours per week minimum
• Must be onsite in San Francisco 5 days a week

Bonus

• Experience with embedded systems running on bare metal
• Experience with real time operating systems
• Experience with FPGA or DSP programming

The base salary for this position is $1750 per week.
