Job Description
The Controller will report to the CFO and will be responsible for directing and overseeing the Company’s weekly and monthly financial reporting and compliance needs, understanding actual cash flows, developing a standardized month end close process, and drive the annual audit process.
Visits to Company locations may help the Controller understand the business further and facilitate a better working environment with the Accounting staff.
This role is expected to be hands on and in person, but can work remotely at times.
- Assist subsidiaries and the parent company with month-end closing, aiming to reduce the process to about five days.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for management and the PE sponsor with the Director of FP&A.
- Develop formal account analysis procedures for quarterly ends.
- Manage the Inform (DDI) system, including account setup and report creation.
- Oversee accounts receivable, cash application, and accounts payable functions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including payments and reporting.
- Implement and improve policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Roll out a unified Expense Report system across all companies.
- Manage and direct the year-end audit.
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process.
- Assist with potential acquisitions.
- Handle various ad hoc information requests.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational accounting, month end closes and financial reporting.
Manufacturing a plus.
A CPA a plus.
