Business Analyst

Summary Objective :

The Business Analyst will support the Business Intelligence team by turning data into actionable insights to help drive key business decisions.

This individual will work closely with key stakeholders across the organization to understand their data needs, create meaningful reports, and perform in-depth analyses.

The role will also involve supporting the transition to advanced analytics, including machine learning and predictive modeling, under the guidance of the Director of Business Intelligence.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting marketing analytics to provide insights on customer segmentation.

Job Responsibilities :

Data Analysis and Reporting :

• Deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time.
• Work with departments to understand reporting and data needs.
• Develop, maintain, and support dashboards and reports using Power BI and other BI tools.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across reports.
• Create detailed analysis and insights on business performance, member behavior, and operational efficiencies.
• Support cross-departmental analytics projects, including marketing, operations, and finance.
• Provide analysis and reporting for marketing campaigns, including segmentation, customer engagement, and performance metrics.

Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning :

• Assist in the development of machine learning models to predict member behavior (e.g., member churn).
• Collect and prepare datasets for unsupervised learning projects.
• Collaborate with the Director of Business Intelligence on testing and deploying machine learning models.

Power BI and Tool Optimization :

• Support the transition from SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to Power BI (or other platforms) across the organization.
• Gather feedback from users to improve reporting tools and dashboards.

Data Governance and Best Practices :

• Assist in developing standardized reporting request procedures for departments.
• Implement best practices in data quality, ensuring reports are accurate and timely.
• Utilize team collaboration tools such as Jira.

Ad-hoc Analysis :

• Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed to support decision-making processes.
• Assist with deeper analysis of key performance indicators, billing, and other operational metrics.
• Support marketing with ad-hoc analysis on campaign performance and member segmentation.

Experience, Education and Certifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
• Familiarity with SQL for querying large datasets.
• Experience with Python for machine learning, including model development, testing, and deployment.
• Proficiency in applying machine learning techniques for predictive analytics, particularly in customer segmentation or churn analysis.
• Experience in supporting marketing analytics, including segmentation, campaign performance, and customer engagement.
• IBM Cognos and / or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to translate business needs into data-driven insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
