Trustpoint is excited to partner with a prestigious midtown law firm in their search of a Legal Secretary on a direct hire basis.

Successful candidates will have 3+ years of experience in a law firm setting and previous experience using Elite 3E software.

Responsibilities :

  • Transcribe, prepare and manage correspondence
  • Photocopy, scan and fax documents
  • Draft new business / matter memos, engagement letters and editing such documents
  • Apply styles using templates
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, conference calls and travel arrangements
  • Maintain schedules and Outlook calendars
  • Arrange and confirm appointments
  • Enter and edit attorney(s) time using Elite / 3E or similar system
  • Client billing
  • Set up and maintain filing systems
  • Screen calls and office visitors

Requirements :

  • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant
  • Proficient spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Strong proficiency with proofreading
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Elite / 3E
  • iManage experience (preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload, as well as anticipate the needs of assigned attorneys
  • Active listener and ability to follow directions
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Articulate, polished and professional when interacting with all levels of firm staff and attorneys
  • Diplomacy when interfacing with supervisors, subordinates, clients and vendors
  • Demonstrates effective verbal, written, listening, and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work appropriately with confidential information
  • All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time
