What we are looking for :

A passionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who will be instrumental in assisting providers with back-office duties to provide quality patient care.

Our CMAs function as an integral and collaborative member of the healthcare team and are expected to display professional behavior and communicate effectively with others.

All CMAs must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care and in accordance with CMA State Scope of Practice.

What you'll do :

Provide excellent customer service both in person, by phone, and in writing.

Prepare patients for the health care visit by accompanying them to the exam rooms, providing gowns and drapes, arranging exam instruments, supplies, and equipment and helping with any other needs.

Collect and document patient information, clinical data and any other relevant information.

Accurately and timely completion of documentation using both the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and any required paper documentation while ensuring patient confidentiality.

Work with the healthcare team to assure smooth and efficient patient flow and clinical operation.

Work to create and maintain excellence in patient / family satisfaction, relationships and engagement.

Respond to care questions or complaints to immediately resolve or escalate appropriately when needed.

Deliver patient care per provider orders and based on practice guidelines, physician delegation regulations and state Medical Assistant State Scope of Practice regulations.

Order, stock, and maintain exam rooms, special order items and supply storage areas.

Other duties as assigned.

It’ll help to have / be :

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Able to work with an Electronic Health Record and other related systems.

The ability to prioritize and adapt based on changing priorities

Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks, following through to completion.

Qualifications / Experience :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Graduate of a medical assisting education program accredited by the National Healthcare Association (required).

Must also maintain current certification from the certifying board of the American Association of Medical Assistants, the National Center for Competency Testing, the National Certification Medical Association, American Medical Technologist, or any other recognized certifying body approved by the Board of Medical Examiners (required)

Experience with EHR systems is highly desired.

Work environment and physical requirements :

Medical office, procedure / exam room and laboratory environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, biohazards, or toxic substances.

Daily activities may include standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting items up to 30 lbs.
