The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of our distribution center ensuring that the team meets or exceeds KPI’s for inventory management, shipping, receiving, cost management and other warehouse operations.
What You’ll Do :
- Ensure that inventory levels are accurate, and products are received, stored and shipped in a timely, accurate, efficient manner.
- Oversee and manage staff to ensure that they are properly trained, motivated and working in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) such as productivity, quality and cost to ensure that the distribution center is meeting its goals and making improvements as needed.
- Work with Building Manager and 3rd party services to repair and maintain building and equipment as needed, including preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Work closely with Quality Manager to identify opportunities to improve processes and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity, as well as quality and safety.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Ensure that customer service levels are maintained by monitoring order fulfillment, accuracy and on time shipments.
- Ensure coverage with respect to vacations, sick days, and other time off allowances.
- Monitor associate attendance and performance.
- Work with HR to ensure coordination of employee engagement is met.
- Work with IT department to ensure technology needs are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What You’ll Need :
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, industrial distribution or related field. Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering highly preferred.
5 years’ experience in shipping and logistics, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of shipping procedures and regulations, including international shipping regulations.
- Ability to manage a team of employees while maintaining a culture of mutual respect and open communication. Must have good conflict resolution skills.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
