Description

Help design and conduct research in intracortical brain-machine interfaces, systems neuroscience, artificial intelligence while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career.

Applies advanced machine learning algorithms to analyze and interpret electrophysiological data from the brain. Develops new ideas that promote current research.

Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May be responsible for operation of specific equipment.

Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee. Postdoctoral fellow is an entry level position in which the research fellow receives training under close supervision of faculty in the Emory University, School of Medicine, Department of Biomedical Engineering

Qualifications : A doctoral degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or highly related fields.

Preferred Qualifications (optional) Experience with intracortical neurophysiology and brain-computer interfaces. Strong programming skills.

Experience with MATLB or Python programming. Experience in application of data science and machine learning concepts to neuroscientific data.

Experience or familiarity with neurophysiology and systems neuroscience. Experience with deep learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : A doctoral degree or equivalent (., ., ScD., ., DDS etc) in an appropriate field. Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.

The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues. Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
