Maintenance Manager

gpac is working with a client that is offering a fantastic opportunity in New York. They are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager for their meat packing facility in the Bronx, New York, with a salary range of $100k-$115k.

The current Maintenance Manager, who has been with the company for over 25 years, is retiring and will provide training to ensure a smooth transition.

The facility employs about 35 people on the floor at a time, many of whom have been with the company for over a decade, reflecting the positive culture and work environment.

During the summer, work hours are from 4 / 5AM to 2 : 30 PM, and in the winter, from 4 / 5 AM to about 11 : 30 AM. These hours allow you to avoid New York traffic and enjoy your afternoons with family and friends.

Additionally, the company offers an incredible 401(k) match of 12%, which is almost unheard of.

Summary : Supervises and oversees the activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing machines and systems throughout the facility by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinates Operations to develop and implement new or improved product and processes.
• Establishes the project requirements for external equipment and facility contractors.
• Defines the operating parameters of the Preventive Maintenance program.
• Maintains an inventory of critical equipment parts to assure operational efficiency and profitability.
• Acts as the purchasing function for equipment and facility maintenance.
• Acts as the point person for computer and Information Technology systems.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Supervision of maintenance personnel.
• Maintains time and production records.

Qualifications :

• 5+ years as a Maintenance Manager in a food environment
• Experience with meat is a plus (not a necessity)
• hydraulics , roll stock , burger machines , conveyors, belts, spray tunnels is a plus.
• Experience with
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 5+ years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to interface well with all employees of the Company and to represent the Company in a highly professional manner.

Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Must be multi-task oriented.
