Job Overview
This position is a proficient Surgical Technician who practices under the supervision of the surgical team in the Operating Room to deliver patient care throughout the perioperative experience.
A ssists the Surgeon during surgery by providing the appropriate instruments and in maintaining and organizing operating room equipment.
Location : Lowell General Hospital - Lowell, MA
Hours : Part-Time / 24 hours a week / Evenings / 2 : 45pm - 11 : 15pm / EOW
Minimum Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent .
2. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program OR Massachusetts's Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
3. Surgical Technician certification through an accredited program or within 12 months of completing program .
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification .
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Scrubs on surgical cases, participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation to the surgeon, participating in surgical counts, and performs related activities under the directions of the surgeon.
2. When not participating on surgical cases the Delivery Room Technician will assist the circulator , with positioning obtaining needed items during surgery, and assisting in room turnover activities.
3. The Delivery Room Technician will maintain current knowledge in area(s) of surgical aseptic technique, peri-operative procedures in Labor & Delivery, surgical scrub for C-sections, D&C's and vaginal deliveries, pre-operative patient care, support of the labor patient under direct RN supervision, provide patient transportation, the ordering supplies, charge data and order entry as needed.

5. Cleans and restocks C-section room after surgery is completed and the patient is transferred to the recovery area. Order supplies and linen for Labor & Delivery.
