Fire Watch Patrol

$20-$24 / hr DOE
Job Summary :
We are looking for experienced Fire watch safety professionals for the upcoming vessel maintenance schedule in Anacortes.
This position is also open to candidates with previous shipyard / marine, construction, and general industrial experience who can easily and quickly adapt to training and apply on the job immediately.
Fire watch Patrol employees are responsible for continuously observing hot work activity for the detection of, and response to, fires before, during, and after hot work operations both on vessels and shore.
Fire watch professionals must be alert, undistracted, cautious, communicative, and able to perform under pressure.
Key Responsibilities :
- Inspect the entire work area to look for the presence of flammable and combustible items, liquids, or gasses before, during, and at the end of each shift.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, learn and understand vessel alarm systems and facility alarm systems.
- Communicate and review previous hot work completed for the day with necessary personnel at the end of shifts.
- Understand how and when to operate fire-extinguishing equipment, and how and when alert the First Responders in the event of a fire.
- Develop detailed activities reports pertaining to shift activities, communicating via written communication as well as verbal communication with supervisors, managers, & other applicable personnel.
- Think clearly and logically, remain calm, use good judgment, and make rapid and logical decisions in emergencies.
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental *Awareness and / or safety training.
- Stay onsite until formally relieved of duties.
Additionally :
Must be physically fit to complete all required tasks
Be on your feet for the full shift
Be able to wear half face respirators
Requirements :
Work Environment : This position requires a lot of outdoor time with exposure to moderate to loud noise levels, metal debris and all types of weather conditions.
Candidates must be able to actively remove distraction and stay focused during the duration of their shifts. Must be able & willing to work in all conditions excluding severe weather.
