GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Financial Analyst develops departmental budgets and variance analyses, prepares forecast and profitability analyses, compiles and analyzes financial ratios by different brand, geography and channel of trade, prepares and analyzes monthly financial data, and assists in overall controlling activities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops, maintains, documents and improves upon complex financial models for forecasting and budgeting purposes with an emphasis on labor-planning and marketing expenses.
• Identifies opportunities to automate, streamline and improve reporting and budgeting procedures, and exploits those opportunities through implementation.
• Supports month-end closing process and controlling procedures by preparing journal entries and accruals for Shared Services accounting team.
• Coordinates information gathering with Finance and Accounting for financial reports, analyses and presentations to aid in the decision-making process.
• Performs on-going analysis of budgetary status and impact of supplemental needs and requests, prepares periodic and ad hoc analyses of Budget / Forecast versus Actual for revenue and expenses, prepares and maintains supporting documentation.
• Analyzes special projects to determine financial impact on the business.
• Works cooperatively with other disciplines and accepts direction from supervisors.
• Prepares management reports for Corporate and senior Luxottica management.
• Runs reports and queries data using Company’s financial package to collect information for financial planning.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• 3+ years’ work experience preferably in Commercial Analysis
• PC proficient, especially with Excel
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the financial analysis discipline
• Solid tactical management skills
• Business acumen
• Organizational savvy
• Effective communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build the business through improved analysis, trending and reporting
• Sound business judgment and strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated team-builder, with the ability to work collaboratively with other individuals and disciplines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years’ work experience preferably in Commercial Analysis
• Knowledge of SAP and / or Essbase
• Experience in labor planning
• Experience in a multi-national company
