Tax Manager

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical tax reviews of complex tax returns
  • Assume responsibility of tax accounts assigned. This includes responsibility for personnel scheduling, compliance with due dates and monitoring time budgets
  • Begin and complete tax research projects, including the ability to present findings in a clear, concise, understandable written form
  • Act as a resource for tax preparers / specialists and audit staff on specific tax issues and / or tax related questions
  • Assume tax preparation responsibility for the more complex business returns
  • Assume client service responsibility
  • Maintain knowledge of general economic and political trends of possible tax or other legislation that could affect the business climate
  • Possess strong computer skills, including the ability to work with CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Engagement, BNA Income Tax Planner, Bloomberg Law research platform, Excel, XCM
  • Apply complex tax concepts to the preparation and review of tax returns (either business, S Corp, C Corp, Individual, Gift Tax or Trusts) including analyzing information and complex calculating of book / tax differences.

Expatriate Tax experience a plus

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of solid tax experience gained within a public accounting firm with very little job movement
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA required
  • Masters degree in Taxation a plus
  • Proficient in corporate, fiduciary (estate & trusts), high net worth individual and partnership taxation
  • Previous experience supervising and training Staff and Seniors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational techniques are required
  • Must be highly motivated and experienced in managing multiple client engagements
  • Trust and Estate experience is ideal
