About the role :

The Benefits Specialist will support a dedicated large national account customer working collaboratively with members of their benefits team as well as local HR to provide a variety of program and project management activities in the administration of their Leave of Absence Program and other benefits.

A primary focus will be vendor management, gap analysis of the leave process and identifying & facilitating enhancements to the program.

This role supports a large, auto manufacturing company located in Nashville, TN with flexibility to work remote.

Core Responbilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Establishes strong relationships with employees, internal resources, and vendors partners in order to provide clarification of disability plan provisions

Acts as subject matter expert and the primary contact for employees in handling day-to-day inquiries regarding all aspects of client’s disability benefit plans including managing and responding to concerns, claims, and pay issues employee in a timely and effective manner that is consistent with client’s employee-centric culture

Demonstrates ownership and utilizes disability / leave plan and process expertise to assist employees with insurance plan questions and issue resolution

Educates employees in efficient planning, selection, and utilization of disability benefits through written communication, meetings, and one-to-one individualized assistance

Partners with internal Attendance & Leave / FMLA / Payroll Teams to manage and organize work flow and ensures accurate reporting, including processing daily Kronos entries and semi-monthly payroll

Maintains oversight for benefit eligibility processing utilizing internal systems and databases, ensuring compliance and teammate’s needs are fully met

Takes responsibility for other special projects and specific duties as assigned by Team Leader / Manager.

Act as point person and project manager for leave programs, with coordination between carriers, vendors, brokers, and the benefit team based on client preferences.

Learn the benefits system, payroll, timekeeping & other platform that involve employee on leave.

Support leave & pay related questions from employee & internal partners to assist in pay coordination & correction.

Other duties may be assigned to assist the benefits team with day-to-day benefits administration task including compliance (such as inquiries from HR and Legal), employee issue resolution, appeals research, communication development, training, internal audits, etc.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience in Employee Benefits and Benefits Administration; experience working for a larger employer in benefit administration is preferable

Experience in working with leave of absence programs is required

Strong problem-solving skills, ability to understand complex plan designs and documents

Ability to work with ambiguity, in a frequently changing, fast-paced environment

Ability to prioritize work and execute multiple projects and tasks in parallel

Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

Proven experience in all Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel with ability to use vlookup and other standard formulas, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word

Pay Range

75,000 - 90,000 Annual
