Manager, Corporate Accounting

Our client, an investment management firm located in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a Corporate Financial Reporting Manager.

This role involves overseeing corporate financial reporting, accounting, and audit compliance. The position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for process improvement and collaboration across various departments.

This position requires being in the office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting functions including revenue recognition, accrual accounting, taxation, accounts payable / receivable, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls related to financial reporting.
• Complete all monthly financial reporting in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist with month-end variance analyses and preparation of support for the external audit team.
• Ensure compliance with expense reporting and capitalization policy.
• Assist in onboarding and managing new financial reporting ERP and Accounts Payable systems.
• Implement and maintain processes to improve the close cycle.
• Drive continuous improvement around processes and systems, and assist in automating procedures.
• Liaise with internal business partners across various functional groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Corporate Controller.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of accounting experience, including at least 5+ years in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and / or an operational accounting role in an investment management company.
• Technical experience with GAAP, SOX, SEC reporting practices, and knowledge of technical accounting topics such as ASC 842 Leases.
• Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Expertise in financial systems and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Strong leadership skills, high energy, initiative, and creativity.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, or finance required.
• Active CPA required.
