Picture this : it’s 7 : 00 a.m. in our Mundelein, IL facility, and production is gearing up. You arrive, review the maintenance schedule, and head to the floor. A conveyor is trending hot on a bearing — you grab your precision instruments, confirm the readings, consult the equipment manual and schematic, and get to work. By 8 : 30, the line is humming again. Before lunch, you complete a set of preventative maintenance tasks, documenting each step, locking and tagging out equipment as required, and collaborating with teammates to keep operations safe and smooth.

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Mechanic working at a Level II capacity, you’ll perform routine to moderately complex maintenance and repairs on plant machinery to maximize reliability and throughput. You’ll diagnose faults, repair breakdowns, and carry out preventative tasks with growing autonomy, escalating the most complex issues to senior technicians when needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Use hand and power tools plus precision measuring / testing instruments to service machinery in line with diagrams, blueprints, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Execute routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment, from basic service to moderately complex tasks.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical breakdowns to restore equipment quickly and safely.
  • Handle moderately complex mechanical issues; refer higher-complexity problems to senior staff.
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
  • Complete process documentation and other assigned duties.

Schedule, Pay, and Location

  • Position Type : Full time
  • Pay : $28 per hour
  • Work Location : Onsite — Mundelein, IL 60060
  • Shift : 7 : 00 a.m. – 4 : 00 p.m., Monday–Friday
  • Skills You’ll Use

  • Manufacturing support and equipment monitoring / maintenance / repair
  • Expert use of hand tools and strong troubleshooting ability
  • Accurate process documentation
  • Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
  • Teamwork, clear interpretation of work instructions, and strong manual dexterity
  • What You Bring

  • Education : High School diploma or GED
  • Experience : Typically 2+ years of relevant work; able to work independently on well-defined tasks and increasingly perform repairs with minimal supervision
  • Preferred : Powered Industrial Equipment Certification
  • Physical Requirements

  • Lift and push / pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Stand for extended periods with frequent bending and stooping
  • Fine motor control to handle small components
  • Comfort working in noisy areas, confined spaces, and from elevated platforms
