Summary of Job Duties :

This Access Coordinator II is responsible for assisting the public, verifying insurance coverage. This position must be able to perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I level and performs other duties to support the patient care activities as needed.

Working under supervision, this position will be primarily responsible for scheduling / registering / checking-in / out outpatient Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy appointments, greeting patients, collecting co-payments, answering multi-line telephone, coordinating appointments, referrals, authorizations, etc.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

High School, GED or formal educational equivalent plus 2 years of customer service or healthcare experience

Additional Information :

Responsibilities :

Schedules and coordinates appointments and surgeries or tests using hospital systems by processing visit notifications of patients

Conducts pre-registration, inputs and / or updates patient information, processes walk-ins, creates new patient charts, and accesses systems for orders

Conducts insurance verification and benefits explanation by running eligibility on patients and requesting outside records

Ensures adequate stock of supplies, and cleans and maintains equipment and waiting rooms

Collects and posts payments and issues receipts

Performs other duties as assigned
